LifePoint's updated Response to COVID-19
Our current situation brings with it understandable anxiety. Although concern is an appropriate response, and while we must take precautionary measures in light of these times, we want to encourage you not to fear and to remain “steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
For the foreseeable future, we will not gather together in person, but we will worship and connect with each other digitally. We will broadcast our Virtual Worship Gathering at 9:30 AM on Facebook Live for the proceeding Sundays, so please make plans to enjoy family worship in your homes. Feel free to share the video or create "watching parties" and invite friends or family members to worship with us online, especially if they do not have access to their own church’s worship service. Our new church website is LIVE so you will also be able access the worship gathering via the website if you do not have access to Facebook.
All in-person events, including children’s and student ministry events, are also canceled, but we are offering some exciting options for families to stay connected through Bible studies and projects. Some of these options will involve Zoom so that we can be together even when we are not together. Our students and community groups are using this method for online Bible studies so keep an eye on our events page to know when those will be taking place. We will also post the Gospel Project kids’ Bible study videos as well as videos of the preschool Bible story on our LifePoint Facebook page by Saturday night each week so that families with children can engage with God’s Word on Sunday mornings at home (or anytime during the week).
Community with one another
We are also suspending Community Groups for the time being to honor the Presidential request to focus on keeping gatherings under 10. As mentioned earlier, we want to encourage group members to leverage the power of technology (such as FaceTime or Zoom) to continue building one another up through prayer and the study of God’s Word. Now more than ever, we need to ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and creativity in gathering to pray for one another and our world. We recommend small prayer gatherings in yards or prayer walks in neighborhoods as your health allows and as the Lord leads you.
Influence with our world
Please be in prayer about ways to show love and mercy to all those who need the hope of Jesus’ resurrection during this time. This includes our brothers and sisters in Christ in our own church family. If you are in need of anything at any time, please reach out. If you have an idea for reaching our community and need help to accomplish it, please also reach out. Our God is still unstoppable, and the spread of the gospel is not to be contained.
